                                 Abstract:The superdeformed (SD) rotational bands in the Hg and Pb isotopes are analyzed by means of the abc expression for rotational band:Eγ(I)=a[1 + cI(I+l)] [√1 + bI(I + 1) -1], which was derived from the Bohr Hamiltonian. The agreement between the calculated and observed transition energies is remarkably good. The deviation of the calculated E s from the observed ones turns out to be|δ|≤ 0.5 keV (except for a few cases, 0.5 keV ≤ |δ| ≤ 0.7 keV). Some transitions which have not been observed yet in these SD bands are predicted, which may be useful for experimental investigations.
