Abstract:A heavy-ion time-of-flight spectrometer has been constructed and operated successfully in our experiments. The trigger detector consists of a thin plastic scientillator foil located at the focus of a perabolic mirror which is coupled to a fast photomultiplier with high light collection efficiency. The time resolution obtained for the system is around 500ps. The mass resolution for A=12 elastically scattered 12C line is ~0.3.
